Rapper 50 Cent sought bankruptcy protection

Curtis James Jackson III, better known as rapper 50 Cent, recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Connecticut, Rolling Stone reported on July 13.
In the bankruptcy papers forwarded by the 40-year-old rapper in Hartford federal Bankruptcy Court, his assets ranged from $10 million and $50 million, although his debts did the same. Legal counsel representing the rapper said in a statement that the bankruptcy filing will allow 50 Cent to restructure his financial transactions while he is working out other issues affecting his business. The bankruptcy filing is expected to protect 50 Cent’s financial interests.
