Crenshaw Hall, an events venue based in Wake Forest, recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, an article by the Triangle Business Journal stated on May 12.
Reports said the bankruptcy documents were filed on May 5 to prevent their property from undergoing the foreclosure proceedings filed by one of their largest creditors. Bankruptcy papers showed that Crenshaw Hall Properties LLC had an unsettled bank loan worth $825,000, at least $14,620 worth of unsettled property taxes and other unsettled debts from law firms. The events facility owner John Bennett III also sought bankruptcy protection for the business in 2010. In their website, Crenshaw Hall stated that they no longer accommodate event reservations.
